Fashion’s biggest and most revered characters all assembled this week at New York’s annual CFDA awards (the fashion Oscars) and the fash pack certainly did not disapoint in the style stakes. However one ‘gaga’ guest stole the show (again) in a flesh exposing ensemble that some have critisised was too OTT.
Designer Marc Jacobs was being honoured with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award at the tender age of 48! He was presented the award by Director/screen writer (and new design partner) Sofia Coppola. “It’s crazy,” says Jacobs. “I mean, I have a lot more to do. ‘Achievement’ sounds final. I’d like to call it ‘Lifetime of achievement — and for what’s left to achieve.” He adds, “I have no intention of slowing down. I don’t rest anyway.”
Other A-list guests including Vogue U.S editor in chief Anna Wintour, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Lucy Lui, Liv Tyler, Whitney Port and Kirsten Dunst.
