B Amazed: 3d Photography

David Copithorne is a photographer and filmmaker specialising in the use of 3D geometric imagery to create a new perspective on the native landscapes, residents and cultures of the southern hemisphere.

His use of a traditional 35mm camera combined with contemporary digital media techniques allows Copithorne to express his findings with a vintage, yet ultra modern feel. Instagram users may find the style of the images familiar, but Copithorne’s artwork is not just about a gimmicky photo filter…

His passion lies with his fascination with being able to capture one single image that he has witnessed, in order for it to last a lifetime, the 3D shapes are used to draw the viewers in, and to allow them to gain a completely different perspective on an original image.

Copithorne has transformed some of his unique images into GIFs, that come alive to the viewer.

Copithorne lives his life through the lens, and is constantly seeking natural scenarios that the average eye may miss, and that cannot be found in a studio or set-up.
