Columbian artist Diana Beltran Herrrera shows her mastery of paper by creating a series of intricately detailed, paper birds that represent the link between nature and recycling.
Starting her career as an industrial designer and being a self confessed nature nut, Diana has been developing her collection, ‘Mathematics of Reality’ for over two years. The collection features a varied selection of bird species including hummingbirds, blackbirds, swans and toucans as well as fish and the odd insect.
By playing with movement and texture Herrera’s sculptures take on a 3d effect that we rarely see in more traditional forms of paper art such as origami.
This mind blowing display of creativity is a wonder to behold and certainly got this writer thinking about the impact of recycling (or lack of it) has on the natural world.
