On a recent visit to the Child Bereavement Charity, Kate Middleton once again increased her style status by pairing her Topshop dress with the stunning Redgrave Coat by Goat. As a proud stockist of Goat, we were thrilled to see Ms Middleton leading the monochrome trend in such a chic way. Kate accessorised the Redgrave Coat with a simple black clutch and heels, with her Peter Pan collar sweetly on show over the coat. The Redgrave Coat has almost sold out across the internet thanks to “The Kate Effect”, but you’ll be pleased to know we still have a few left both in store and online at Jules B.
Industry insiders have been astonished at the effect Kate Middleton has had on fashion sales over the past few years, with every item she wears selling out almost instantly. Who can forget the Reiss dresses which all sold out in a millisecond? Kate is a true pioneer for British fashion of both designer and high street quality, making her a style inspiration for women of all ages. Kate’s favourite designers are British and she returns to the same designers for both day and eveningwear choices. For her beautiful wedding dress Kate chose Sarah Burton, who had recently taken over as creative director of Alexander McQueen, a fabulous choice which gave a tremendous boost to British fashion. Since then, Kate has been spotted frequently in McQueen outfits, both bespoke and ready-to-wear. At Jules B, we stock the McQ by Alexander McQueen diffusion line where you’ll find a wearable collection of pieces from Sarah Burton’s creative vision. For her public appearances, Kate has also turned to one of our brands, Amanda Wakeley, for smart tailored dresses which effortlessly translate from daywear to eveningwear, as well as looking to Joseph for elegant daywear which is perfect for any occasion. Momentarily looking to Italian design house Missoni, Kate chose a beautiful M Missoni blue boucle coat for two public engagements last year. While some criticised her for recycling the AW10 coat, I thought Kate made a practical, smart choice. I know if I’d spent £600 on an M Missoni coat I’d want to wear it more than once, surely that’s the fun of fashion? Choices like these make Kate a firm favourite with not just me, but the rest of the women in Britain too. Kate knows the importance of accessorising too, her classic choice being a pair of neutral pumps which complement any outfit with ease.
For as elegant as Kate looks in a bespoke designer dress, she looks just as polished in her casual favourites. A fan of Barbour and J Brand, Kate is just as stylish and comfortable off-duty as she is on the red-carpet. Any girl knows the power of a good wardrobe staple, and Barbour jackets will never let you down. From smart quilted pieces to classic waxed jackets, a Barbour jacket is an investment which will last for years (my waxed Barbour jacket is older than I am). Kate has made another sound investment with her J Brand Jeans, from the bright pink pair she wore to play hockey during a public appearance to the classic navy pair she’s stepped out in three times, The Kate Effect struck again with the 811 Navy Jeans selling out. You can shop the SS13 Barbour andJ Brand collections online at Jules B now.
