Vogue Paris: God Save the Queen

Blog 09/08/2013 10:33 AM

Anja Rubik stars in the God Save the Queen editorial in the August Issue of Paris Vogue, the Polish supermodel portrays two of this season’s biggest trends royalty and punk. Styled by current editor Emmanuelle Alt, the editorial remakes history and fashion heritage channelling the two iconic British looks. Photographed by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, the looks come from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Chloe, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Saint Laurent Paris and Lanvin.

The Queen of England, more specifically the late Princess Diana, royal look is portrayed in elegant and embellished dresses, classic British tailoring, fur and not forgetting the all important heavily jewelled regal crown. The punk rebellion is showcased with leather and denim jackets, distressed plaid shirts, ripped tights, army boots and spiked jewellery. The fusion of the trends is complemented with the sharp contrast of two-faced make-up and hair by Lisa Butler and Christiaan.
