B ADVENTUROUS – CANNES – FILM & THE FRENCH RIVIERA
This week at Jules B H/O we’re writing this while looking out at the grey drizzle currently masquerading as the great British summer, and dreaming of a splash of sunshine to increase our serotonin levels. But do not fret! May is officially the chicest month in Europe…so where better to start than fabulous Cannes? Situated in sunny southeastern France, the famous town of Cannes grew its roots as a small fishing village before developing into the European social hub and playground of the rich and famous it is today. May means only one thing in Cannes, and unless you’ve been [...]

B HIND THE SCENES – GET BACK, STAY BACK
Everybody’s worst nightmare is being attacked and not being able to defend yourself, and fashion moguls SHOWstudio recent release, Get Back, Stay Back aims to demonstrate to women everywhere how to defend themselves using Krav Maga, a self defence system used by the Israeli defence forces. Captured by fashion photographer Nick Knight and starring supermodel Lara Stone, the short film focuses on defence whilst wearing couture from fashion giants including Chanel, Valentino, Louis Vuitton and Ralph Lauren styled by Carine Roitfeld. In Octave Uzanne’s La Femme à Paris, a woman’s clothing is described as ”offensive armour” but in reality, seldom provides protection [...]
B ADVENTUROUS – LAS VEGAS NEON SIGNS & VALLEY OF FIRE
As the summer holiday season is fast approaching, at Jules B H/O this week we’ve been thinking about a sneaky alternative to a beach break. Las Vegas isn’t just a place for a stag do or a makeshift wedding. Nevada just got chic… As the largest city in Nevada, Las Vegas certainly enjoys the nickname of ‘Entertainment Capital of the World’, as after the state legalised gambling in 1931, this desert surrounded small settlement grew steadily to the bustling neon mecca it is today. In less than 20 years, the construction of the famous Hoover Dam and Flamingo Hotel brought both [...]

B ADVENTUROUS: BUENOS AIRES – POLO & PANTOMIME
This week in Jules B H/O we’ve been travel lusting over a place famous for its unique blend of cosmopolitan culture, friendly Porteños, delicious food and buzzing nightlife. There’s nowhere quite like Buenos Aires, Argentina… As the largest city and capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires sits on the western shores of the estuary of the Rio de la Plata, but from photographs you probably wouldn’t immediately place its buildings as South American. Instead the city is renowned for its European style architecture due to historically, the high number of Italian immigrants, and rich cultural life where one minute you’ll find [...]
